Andersson, Sherri V
Sherri Vasquez Anderson, a woman of true love and faith, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, in Centerville, Tennessee with her loving family by her side. Born on July 9, 1972, in Denver, Colorado, Sherri’s big infectious smile and boundless generosity touched countless lives throughout her 52 years.
Sherri was the cherished daughter of Nancy Vasquez and the late Manuel Vasquez. She grew up in a lively household alongside her sisters, Julie Pena and the late Lori Vasquez. Her family roots served as the foundation for the remarkable woman she became, one who valued family above all else.
When Sherri was only one year old, her family was called to Ecuador as missionaries where they served for three years. Later, she gained her formal education at Newbury Park Academy in California; Shenandoah Academy in Virginia; a bachelor’s degree in international studies at Southern Adventist University in Tennessee; one-year international studies in Spain at Sagunto University; graduate degree in Physiology and Pharmacology at Loma Linda University in California; MBA in business from Cal State University in California.
Sherri’s heart found its match in Erik Andersson, with whom she built a life filled with joy, laughter, and music for nearly 17 years. Together, they had four beautiful children-Valentina, Giovanna, Carmela, and Manuel. It was their desire to raise their children in a wholesome country environment. So they relocated to Hohenwald from Washington state in 2010 and Dr. Andersson bought his dental practice on Main Street.
Sherri loved to sing. Her voice was not only a testament to her musical talent but also to her ability to bring comfort and joy to those around her. Safe TV once featured her singing and praising the Lord for a half-hour musical program.
Sherri’s zest for life extended to her personal pursuits as well. She was dedicated to her exercise routines, ensuring she had the energy to keep up with her children’s activities and her own adventurous spirit. She loved to run and one year completed a marathon in Los Angeles.
Sherri’s faith was the very cornerstone of her existence. She lived her beliefs through acts of kindness, always ready to introduce herself to newcomers and extend a helping hand. Her unwavering faith in God was evident in her thoughtful actions and her commitment to her church community at the Hohenwald Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Those who knew Sherri can attest to her being the epitome of love, faith, and thoughtfulness. Her big heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met, making the world a better place, one kind gesture at a time. She loved the Lord intensely, her whole life being directed by prayer and seeking the Lord. She now awaits His call to eternal life on that glorious resurrection morning.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Erik; their children, Valentina, Giovanna, Carmela, and Manuel; her mother, Nancy Vasquez; sister Julie (Bobby) Pena; nephews Lorenzo (Tori) Pena, Max Pena, Benjamin Cabe, niece Chloe Cabe; in-laws Dianna and Mark Anderson; sister-in-law Krista (Chris) Laursen; aunts and uncles Louis (Jan) Vasquez and Ray Vasquez; Diane (Larry) Maggard; Victor (Robin) Cachero; cousins Tami Marks, Kevin Quinata, Michael Maggard, Jennifer German, Shelley Vasquez, Denise Vasquez, Alysson Colt, Joel Cachero, Scott Vasquez, Eric Vasquez, Randy Vasquez, and Annette Thurmon.
A celebration of life funeral service was held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at First Baptist Church Hohenwald beginning at 4:00 pm.
