Ms. Margie Marie (Garrard) Amacher, a lifelong resident of Hohenwald, TN, passed from this life on to her eternal home on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 83.

Margie was born on February 1, 1939, in Lawrence County. She grew up and married Charles Ray Amacher. They raised their family together and were happily married for many years until his passing in 2000. Margie was known for her green thumb. She could grow anything and everything. She was also a huge animal lover. She took in many strays over her lifetime, but her favorite animal was her pet squirrel. She was wholeheartedly devoted to her family and loved them more than anything. Above all, she was a Christian. She was a dedicated member of the Springer Church of Christ until her passing.

She leaves behind her children, Glenda Fay (Chris) Betts of Franklin, TN, Wanda (Darrell) Cameron of Hohenwald, TN, Ronnie (Sandy) Amacher of Murfreesboro, TN, and Greg (Lisa) Amacher of Hohenwald, TN, grandchildren, Darrin (Lacey) Cameron, Melissa (John) Alexander, Jenni Betts, Kristen (Nathan) Lucas, Kayla (Seth) Bowling, Lauren (Billy) Reese, Leanna (Ethan) Owen, and Liza Beth Amacher, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dalton Garrard.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM at Swiss Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Springer Church of Christ, Hohenwald, TN.
