Roy Jackson, 60, of Ooltewah, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
He was a graduate of Lewis County High School, Tennessee Tech, and Tusculum University. Roy held a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Business Management. He worked as an Industrial Engineer 30 plus years in automotive manufacturing.
Roy played football in high school and college. He had many interests in sports, antique cars, fishing, hunting, and golf.
Roy’s favorite past-time was being a dad and spending time with his children. Roy was active in his children’s lives and he volunteered for many of his children’s activities. He coached t-ball, soccer, softball, and football teams for children in grades 2-8. He attended practices and competitions for cheerleading, gymnastics, swimming, basketball, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and all of the sports his children participated in. He loved every minute of it.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Jackson, his mother, Shirley Jackson, and his brother, Samuel.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Jackson; daughter, Paige Jackson; son, Christopher Jackson; and two brothers, Troy Jackson and Stacy Jackson.
A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on January 9, 2021 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:30 pm following the service in the funeral home.
Roy will be laid to rest privately at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
