Spicer, Richard Allen Jr
Richard Allen Spicer Jr, 72 passed away at his home October 12,2019 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Wayne County, Michigan to the late Richard and Wanda Bradway Spicer Sr.
Mr. Spicer served in the United States Navy during Vietnam after which being honorably discharged in November of 1971. After serving in the military he returned home to work at Detroit Edison in Michigan as a boiler operator.
Mr. Spicer was well known for his basket weaving and has had numerous articles written about the incredible work he did. He had one of his baskets presented to the governor as well as having one displayed on the White House Christmas tree. He has been described as creative with anything he worked on and was always one to give praise to everyone around him. He spent his spare time in the outdoors building boats or working in his incredible organic garden with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Elizabeth Spicer; sons, Christopher and Patrick Spicer; granddaughter, Alexandria Spicer; great grandson, Nolan River Bell and brothers, Timothy (Marcia) Spicer, Dave (Diane) Spicer, Kevin (Denise) Spicer, Kerry (Terri) Spicer; and sisters, Jill and Amy Spicer.
A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
