Dorothy Nell Staggs passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023. Born on April 14, 1940, in Hohenwald, TN, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Vernon White and Irene White Roden, and the step-daughter of the late Bill Roden.

Dorothy had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley. She and her sister “Bet” Nunnery would often compete to see who could collect the most Elvis memorabilia. She was also an avid quilter, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her family for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Verna Mae Bissonette, Harold Roden, and Betty “Bet” Nunnery.

Dorothy was a devoted wife to her husband, Barney Staggs, and a precious mother to her children, Ronnie (Karen) Frazier, Mike Staggs, Tony (Ashley) Staggs, Gage (Rachel) Staggs, Theresa (Greg) Whitehead, and Shelia Whary. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Bryant Rogers, and her grandson, Eric Rogers. Dorothy was a beloved sister to Jerry Roden, Billy Roden, Frankie Whitehead, Ann McDonald, and Faye Carroll.

Dorothy was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Frazier, Andrew (Sarah) Rogers, Michelle (Matthew) Jaco, Brett (Mandie) Frazier, Crystal Swinea, and Austin Staggs and a proud great-grandmother to Connor, Brantley, Winchester & Weatherby Jaco, Anna Kaye Rogers, Ian Frazier, Emma Edwards, Breauna Staggs, Will & Chris (Curly Top) Swinea. She also had a special place in her heart for her fur baby, Lisa, and mourned the loss of her fur baby, Angel.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 4:15 PM in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis Co. A graveside service will immediately follow beginning at 4:30 PM in the Deavers Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
