Ms. Charlotte “Shirley” Bates Talley was born September 2, 1933, the baby of eleven, to Nancy Radie Bates and William Dufford Bates. Ms. Shirley passed from this earthly home and was reunited with her husband on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

 She was married to Leonard Ray “Glen” Talley on November 28, 1953, and they shared 65 wonderful years.  Together they had twin daughters, Glenda and Brenda Talley.  Shirley was above all a homemaker and a hardworking caregiver to both her husband and her family. The last twenty years of her husband’s life she was is primary care provider. She worked in several factories in Hohenwald.   

Ms. Talley is survived by her twin daughters, Brenda and Glenda Talley. In addition to her husband and parents, Ms. Talley is preceded in death by her brothers Clyde, Claude, Carlton, Garland, Harlon, and sisters Ima, Irene, Jessie, Wyladean, and Louise.

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in the Chapel of Adair Funeral Cremation Services with graveside services to follow at Milan Cemetery in Centerville, TN.
