Rogers, Sara Dolene
Sara Dolene Willis Rogers passed away on January 2, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. Dolene was born in Hohenwald, TN on December 8, 1938 to Samuel Dolphus “Dol” and Sara Leona Arzell Talley Willis. She married William “Bill” Clinton Rogers on April 21, 1957.
Since Bill was a military man, they made their home with their children in Pear City, Oahu, Hawaii; Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Great Falls, Montana; Killeen, Texas; Gelhusen, Germany; Fort Knox, Kentucky and retired to Hohenwald, TN.
Dolene was a very active member of the community, a member of Lomax Church of Christ, Historical Society, Oktoberfest Committee, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 127, a charter member of Pilot Club of Hohenwald, Gold Wing Road Riders Association and Swiss-German Chorus Alpenroesli and received numerous awards from these clubs.
Dolene is preceded in death by her parents Dol and Arzell Willis, her husband Bill Rogers, son Bryant LaRoy Rogers, grandson Eric Nathan Rogers and brother Leon Willis.
She is survived by children Larry Clinton Rogers, Donise Rogers Bates, and Daughter-in-law Theresa Rogers Whitehead of Hohenwald, TN, Troy Lane Rogers of Hendersonville, TN, Andrea Rogers Bagnall of Cornville, AZ, Grandchildren Andrew Rogers, Crystal Rogers Swinea, Cody Bates of Hohenwald, TN, Benjamin Rogers of Hendersonville, TN, Lane Rogers Brown of Murfreesboro, TN, Alexander and Samuel Bagnall of Arizona and Great Grandchildren William and Christian Swinea, Anna Kaye Rogers, Piper Bates of Hohenwald, Arabella and Ivan Brown of Murfreesboro and sisters Colleen Spears and Gloria Jones of Hohenwald.
Visitation will be 5 Jan 2019, 10:00 – 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Lewis County. Funeral Services will be held 5 Jan 2019 at 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Lewis County.
