I believe he must be the Hartwell WESTER listed in the War of 1812 Muster Rolls as: “WESTER Hartwell 5 Reg’t (Atkinson’s) North Carolina Mil. Private Private 222 602.” We know nothing about his parents or siblings, but we do know that he & his wife “Fanny” had 2 children before he was murdered in a dispute over land about 1823 Lawrence Co TN (a record shows payment of $12 to a coroner July 1823 regarding his death but exact date of death not shown). Children: son John J. WESTER born 1819 Lawrence Co TN died of pneumonia 1864. He was a Colonel in the US Standing Army listed as a wagon maker in U.S. Census of 1860, Lawrence Co TN.
