The books of R.M. Rains were kept for his business. The people listed in the
\nbooks either bought goods from him, did work for him or he purchased good from
\nthem. I know nothing about this business nor the people listed. I just hope it
\nmight give someone a lead on their family. One book says Brownsville and
\nanother says Ripley, so I’m listing this in both counties. Some of the writing
\nwas hard to read as these books have been in a shed for many years.<\/p>\n
