FRIDAY JULY 16, 1932, LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY, TENNESSEE FRIDAY<\/p>\n
DEATH–Mrs. Mattie WATKINS<\/strong>, mother of our friend and fellow townsmen, Hon. J.W. WATKINS, died at her home near Alamo, Thursday of last week at the age of a little more than 88 years. She was the daughter of the late Dr. G.S. SCARBROUGH, one of the leading physicians of his day. Dr. CARBOROUGH died in 1883. Mrs. WATKINS is survived by three sons; four daughters; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the funeral last Friday at Pond Creek Methodist Church, six of her grandsons served as pallbearers. The services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.F. PAFFORD, assisted by Rev. J.C.W. NUNN and Rev. P.A.
