THOMPSON, Balinda
FRIDAY JULY 8, 1932, LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY, TENNESSEE FRIDAY
IN MEMORY OF OUR MOTHER–On Tuesday 5th at 4 p.m., the death angel came into our midst and claimed for its own, our darling mother, Mrs. Balinda (nee RUS) THOMPSON. She was sick four weeks with flu and pneumonia. Though suffering intensely, she bore all with the fortitude of an angel, and when asked how she felt, she would always answer with a smile, “just fine.” It was hard to give her up and as time goes on it seems unbearable. She was born December 2nd,1848 at Hurricane Hill; on July 13th,1870, she was married to L.O. THOMPSON. To this union eight children were born, five of whom survive. She was left a widow at the age of 50 and was never willing to leave the old home and there she was when the end came. She leaves five heartbroken children; grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie MULLIKIN to mourn her death. Funeral services at Mt. Pleasant Church, burial in church cemetery.
