COUNTY REGISTER’S OFFICE, RIPLEY,TENNESSEE
H.A. MUELLER & WIFE to G.L. FITZGERALD. DEED. KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE
PRESENTS, that we H.A. MUELLER and wife, ERA MUELLER for and in consideration of
the sum of FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED-SEVENTY-SEVEN AND 66/100 dollars, of which
amount G.L. FITZGERALD has this day paid to us the sum of SEVENTEEN HUNDRED
SEVENTY-SEVEN AND 66/100 Dollars, in cash, receipt of which is acknowledged, and
for the balance has and does hereby assume the payment of a balance of Twenty
Six Hundred Dollars that we owe The Federal Land Bank of Louisville, and which is
secured by first mortgage on the land here conveyed of record in the register’s
office at Ripley, Tennessee to which reference is expressly made. Now for the
consideration aforesaid we have this day bargained and sold and do hereby
transfer and convey unto the said G.L. FITZGERALD his heirs and assigns, a certain
tract of land, which is situate, lying and being in the 2nd civil district of said
county and being the same tract of land conveyed to the said MUELLER by
W.B. CAMPBELL and wife by deed of record in the register’s office at
Ripley, Tennessee in Deed Book J-3 Page 256 to which reference is made and same
is described: Beginning at the n.w. cor of a tract of land sold by BENNETT
WILLIAMS to G.M. SHAW, thence east with SHAW’s north line 59 1/4 poles to a
stake, SHAW’s n.e. cor thence north 180 poles to a stake,2 elm pointers, thence
west 59 3/10 poles to a stake with two paw-paw and sweet gum pointers, it being
the n.w. cor.of the original 263 1/4 acre tract; thence with its western boundary
line 180 poles to the beginning. CONTAINING 66 Acres and 96 poles. ALSO a strip
10 feet wide and 180 poles long long the west side of said tract and making a
total of 67 and 1/3 acres more or less. To have and to hold said tract of land to
the said G.L. FITZGERALD,his heirs and assigns. We covenant to and with him that
we are well seized and possessed of said land: that we have a good right to sell
and convey the same; that the same is unencumbered except to said Land Bank as
refered to above,and that we will warrant and forever defend the title to the
same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever except the claim of
said Federal Land Bank. AND the said ERA MUELLER, wife of H.A. MUELLER
relinquishes and conveyed all rights of homestead and dower thar she has in and
to said lands, as wife of H.A. MUELLER, and joins in this deed also for the
purposes herein expressed. This December 12,1922. $2.00 Revenue Stamps attached

STATE OF TENNESSEE LAUDERDALE COUNTY Personally appeared before
me, I.M. STEELE, a Notary Public in and for said county H.A. MUELLER and his wife
ERA MUELLER the within named bargainors, with whom I am personally acquainted, and
who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes
therein contained. And ERA MUELLER, wife of H.A. MUELLER having appeared before me
privately and apart from her husband, the said H.A. MUELLER, acknowledged the
execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and
understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her husband, and for the
purposes therein expressed. Witness my hand and seal of office at office in
