Eddie Lee Thompson, 69, died Tuesday, September 16, 1968, in Crittenden County Hospital in West Memphis, Ark., after a long illness. He was born July 15, 1899 in Lauderdale County, a son of Gordon P. and Lillie V. Thompson. Services were Wednesday in Citizens Funeral Home in west Memphis. Burial was in Grace Cemetery, Lauderdale County. He was a retired employee of Mallory Air Force Depot in Memphis, and a former Memphis firefighter. He leaves a daughter, Linda Lee Thompson, raised for the majority of her life in San Diego, CA, and two granddaughters, Kelly Lee McMurray and Jaimie Lee McMurray. He leaves his brothers, William G. Thompson and "Red" Thompson, both of Ripley, John P. Thompson, of West Memphis; and sisters, Mrs. A. L. Hammett, of West Memphis and Mrs. J. C. Carter, of Millington.
