Romaine Smith, 76, of Halls, died Tuesday of last week in Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Rites were Friday in Halls Funeral Home, with burial in Green Hill Memorial Gardens near Halls. He had retired as a foreman for Mrs. Baird’s Bread Co. in Dallas, Tex. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Christine Campbell Smith; daughters, Cindy Smith, of Commerce, Tex., and Ginger Williams, of Talty, Tex.; sisters, Barbara Strey and Warlene Smith, of Halls; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
