Robert Ira Barfield Dies At Age Of 52 Sudden Heart Attack Fatal Services for Robert Ira Barfield, of Henning, were held at 2 Saturday afternoon at Garner's Ripley Funeral Home by the Rev. M. L. Davis, pastor of Henning Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial was in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Barfield, 52, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the office of Dr. W. J. B. Williams, in Henning to which he was taken following a heart seizure. He was born near Henning on June 20, 1903, the son of the late Ira and Mrs. Elizabeth Barfield and farmer of that vicinity. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Faye Blurton Barfield; one son, Larry Barfield, and two daughters, Miss Mary Faye Barfield and Miss Linda Barfield, all at home; and one brother, Joe Barfield, Fort Pillow State Prison Farm Warden. Active pallbearers were C. S. O. Rice, Poston Brandon, Walter Partain, W. D. Barfield, Vernon McBride and Walter Sanford. Honorary pallbearers were B. C. Durham, Guy Wood, S. L. Berg, C. S. Carney, Barney Dunavant, Dr. J. L. Dunavant, and Dr. W. J. B. Williams. |
