The remains of Mr. S.S. (Vester) Halfacre arrived in Ripley Wednesday night from Vicksburg, Miss., where he died after a brief illness of malaria hematuria. He had been engaged in the timber business in Alsatia, La. for several years, and was taken ill about a week ago and was carried to a hospital in Vicksburg. He was 35 years of age and was a son of Mr. J.F. Halfacre of Stonewall. His brother, Mr. Gus Halfacre, was called to his bedside when he became critically ill and accompanied the remains here, which were laid to rest in Grace Cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock
