Ruffus Ray Mooney, age 51, a Lauderdale County Hwy Dept employee, of Asbury was electrocuted Wednesday, June 14, 1989, when a crane touched a power line and arced, during bridge repair on Cates Rd. He was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital Lauderdale. He would have turned 52 June 20th. Services for Mr. Mooney were at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Mary's Chapel Baptist Church where he was a member. Burial in church cemetery, with Garner's Funeral Home in charge. Bro. Wallace Vaughan officiating. He leaves his wife Nancy J. Mooney, four sons Ray Howell, Jerry Mooney, Randy Mooney, and Jonathan Mooney all of Ripley, and one daughter Sherry Hatch of Ripley. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mooney of Ripley, four brothers Charles Mooney, Grady Mooney and Joe Mooney of Ripley and John Mooney of Taylor, MI. Four sisters: Frelia Langley, Gerty Wiseman, Pam Jackson of Ripley, and Bonnie Rogers of Memphis, and four grandchildren. |
