James Edward Hartsfield, 78, retired self-employed scrap dealer, died of cardiopulmonary arrest Thursday at Ripley Healthcare Rehabilitation Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Halls Funeral Home with burial in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Hartsfield, the husband of Genevieve Smith Hartsfield, also leaves five daughters, Liddie Butler of Carbondale, Ill., Patricia Nelson of Ripley, Frances Hutcherson of Halls, Shirley Boyd of Byhalia, Miss., and Kathy Siglow of Paris; two sons, James Edward Hartsfield Jr. of Ripley and Carlease Hartsfield of Big Sandy; five sisters, Leona Bonds, Pearlie Grimison and Phyllis Climer, all of Halls, and Joan Burnett and Claudia Lloyd, both of Dyersburg; two brothers, Auguster Hartsfield of Halls and L. C. Hartsfield of Blytheville, Ark., 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. |
