We learned Sunday morning of the death of Samuel A. Devinney the previous night at the hospital in Paducah, KY. He had been ill 5 weeks with typhoid fever. He was survived by his mother who had been at his bedside and accompanied the remains home, and his brother James Devinney. He was born at Woodville, Haywood County, November 30, 1878, and moved to Ripley at age 3. He had been employed by the IC Railroad as a flagman for 3 years. He was a Methodist; burial was in Maplewood. |
