Capt. William Boydstun Capt. William Boydstun died Wednesday at his home near Ripley, after having been confined to his bed over two years. He was born in Hamilton County 90 years ago the first day of last December, and had been a resident of Lauderdale County 73 years. Capt. Boydstun had been married three times and his last wife, who survives him, was Mrs. Fannie Byrn. He has no living children. He was a gallant Confederate soldier and during the war between the states, a first lieutenant in Capt. C. H. Conner's Company and H. Clay King's regiment. The only public office he ever held was Trustee of Lauderdale County two or three terms during the seventies. He was a member of John Sutherland Camp, U.C.V. of Ripley, and was buried with camp honors Thursday morning at Grace Church. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and the funeral services were conducted by Dr. W. H. Burton, pastor of the Ripley Baptist Church. Obituary furnished by Rosie Lemons |
