James Edward Bell, 85, farmer, died of a cardiovascular accident Saturday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Halls Funeral Home with burial in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Mr. Bell, the husband of Adie Watkins Bell, also leaves a daughter, Carolyn Kilzer of Halls; two sons, Ernest Edward Bell of Covington and Billy Joe Bell of Unionville; two sisters, Ruth Upton of Maury City and Nelson Pierce of Rochester, N.Y., 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
