Mary Noel Beard, 91, of Ripley, Tenn., and formerly of Elyria, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Ripley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley. Born in Haywood County, Tenn., she had lived in Elyria until moving back to Ripley. Mrs.Beard was a lifelong member of Henning Grove Baptist Church in Ripley and was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church while living in Elyria. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and sewing. She was extremely gifted as a quilter. Survivors include her brother, Henry Nolen of Lorain; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Beard; parents, Pink and Neely Noel; a son, Harvey D. Halliburton; sisters Katie Midgett, Estelle Lewis, Annie Adams, Carrie Noel, Berdie Eisom and Lillie Carr; and brothers John Noel and Elder W.H. Noel. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. services at Henning Grove Baptist Church, 10688 Edith Nankipoo Road in Ripley.
