Mary Jewell Arwood, 79, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Lauderdale in Ripley. Services will be at 5:30 p.m. today at Halls Funeral Home with burial in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. She was a member of Curve Baptist Church.

Mrs. Arwood, the widow of Edmond Arwood, leaves three daughters, Betty Harris of Memphis, Ruth Hartsfield of Halls, and Juliet Lilly of Gates; two sons, E. J. Arwood of Halls and James Richard Arwood of Three Rivers, Calif.; two sisters, Geraldine Apperson of Dyersburg and Ruby Hall of Ripley; five brothers, Paul Stanley, Carlton Stanley, Joe Stanley, and Harold Stanley, all of Halls, and Gene Stanley of Ripley, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
