ALVIN W. ‘BUDDY’ SIMPSON, 78, of Memphis, bricklayer, died Thursday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crossroads Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial at 2 p.m. in Lauderdale County Memorial Gardens in Ripley, Tenn. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. He was a 50-year member of the Bricklayers Union. Mr. Simpson, the husband of Janell Simpson, also leaves three daughters, Carolyn Stwan, Dianne Croake and Pamela Coleman, all of Seffner, Fla.; seven sons, Billy Simpson of Orlando, Fla., Joe Carmack of Curve, Tenn., Wade Simpson Jr. of Seffner, Bill Carmack of Rosemark, Tenn., Paul Simpson of Cairo, Ga., Mark Carmack of Huntsville, Ala., and George Simpson of Memphis; two sisters, Irene Williams and Naomi Jackson, both of Ripley, 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund. |
