Know all men by these presents that I, hath for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell and convey unto Martha Goodman and her assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Dyer County and a part of Wm. Murray's 3166 acre Survey - beginning at a Black Oak the South East corner of So. Survey on the county line- thence North with the county line 108 1/3 poles to a stake Three White Oak Pointers, thence West 147 4/5 poles to a stake with two Black Oak Pointers, thence South 108 1/3 poles to a stake with three Elm Pointers, thence East 147 4/5 poles to the beginning. Containing 100 acres more or less. To have and to hold to the only proper use of her the said Martha Goodman and assigns forever and I the said M. D. Cox doth obligate and bind myself, my heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the title of said land against the claim or claims of any and all persons. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of September, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Three. Signed, Sealed and Delivered Manuel D. Cox [Seal] John W. Cox, the bargainor before me named with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowldeged the execution of the foregoing Deed of conveyance for the purpose therein contained.
