Crockett’s Chapel was not the earliest church to be established in Western Obion County, but it was the only one of six that survived through the years.  This part of Obion County did not become Lake County until 1870. Crockett Chapel had its beginning in 1869.  Many Pioneer Lake County families attended services there, and today their descendants can still be found.  Graves dating back to the 1850’s can be found in the cemetery as well as graves of soldiers from the War Between the States.

Mrs. Algee has just published a book of this cemetery.  Below are some excerpts from the book which show the depth of information that is contained in the book.
