I am seeking any information on my grgrandfather James GRISHAM. He was born August 16,1878 and died February 20, 1917 (as per his death cerificate). His father was William GRISHAM and his mother was Luvena STEELE. They lived in Apison at the time of his death. He married Oleva LAWSON, born around Aug. of 1885. She was also called Ollie. She was the daughter of John LAWSON and Mary ROLLINS / RAWLINGS.

Seeking copy of marriage license issued Birchwood, James County, 4 September 1895 for Samuel Jefferson CLINGAN (10 Dec 1876, Meigs County,TN), son of David CLINGAN and Martha GROSS and Nancy Jane IRWIN (her original name may have been Mary Jane IRWIN), (13 October 1876, Meigs County, TN), father was John IRWIN.

I know there are some CRUMLEY families buried in different parts of Hamilton County. One is my g-greatgrandfather, Henry Morgan CRUMLEY. He is buried in the Concord Cemetery. Hello I am looking for my grgrandmother. Her name was Ida Bell CARDEN. Her maiden name was ROBINSON. She was born on 3/11/1878 and died on 7/16/1917. She married a James Marion CARDEN. On my grandfather's birth certificate it say he was born at 512 Camdren Dr in James County TN . He was only 8 months old when his mother passed away. James Kitchen MATHIS was born abt 1820 in TN and died in 1871 in Hamilton/James Co, TN. He married Malissa B. McDONOUGH abt 1840. Malissa was from Bledsoe Co, TN, the daughter of Andrew McDONOUGH and Sarah "Sallie" KELLEY/KELLY. Andrew and Sallie are in Hamilton Co, TN in 1850. They lived in Apison. Prior to Hamilton Co, Andrew and Sallie lived in Bledsoe Co, TN. James K. and Malissa MATHIS first show up in Murray Co, GA in 1850, by 1860 they are in Hamilton/James County. James K. MATHIS is supposed to have come to Marion Co, TN as a small boy and grew up there. All his children are recorded as being born in Hamilton Co, TN. Alexander Scott MATHIS married his cousin in 1881 in Hamilton Co, TN. The story goes that Louise moved from either Sequatchie Co or Sequatchie Valley to Chattanooga. Louise is listed with her father, John F. MATHIS, in the 1880 Hamilton County census.

According to the 1910 James County census, my great-grandmother, Mary WELCH, was listed as a "cousin" living with James M. and Elsie McCLANAHAN. Mary was about 20 at the time, James was 35 and Elsie was 34. I do not know anything about the McCLANAHAN's and I'm hoping someone can tell me more.

I am looking for info which would list the parents of this John CRUMBY who was born s/w in north Georgia in 1827. He fought in Civil War CSA in the Army of Tennessee. He married Stacy Emeline HUFSTADLER on 2-6-1866 in Hamilton Co., Tn (formerly James Co.). John died on 11-6-1890 and is buried in the Confederate Cemetery in Hamilton Co..
