Mr. Flowers, age 65, died Wednesday, September 24, after an extended illness. <strong>Bro. Johnny Young<\/strong> of New Johnsonville officiated at the service with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery. Luff -Bowen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>He was born in Humphreys County and was a life long resident, except for service in the Army during World War II. He was retired from TVA,New Johnsonville, and received a Bronze Star during World War II. He was the son of the late Luke and Bessie Holley Flowers. He was married to <strong>Mrs. Frances<\/strong>\u00a0<b>Oakley Flowers<\/b>\u00a0of New Johnsonville.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Danny Ray\u00a0<b>Flowers<\/b>, Roger Dale\u00a0<b>Flowers<\/b>, both of New Johnsonville; one daughter, Miss Anita Joyce\u00a0<b>Flower<\/b>s of Cookeville; three brothers, Robert Flowers of Obion, David\u00a0<b>Flowers\u00a0<\/b>of Port Arthur, Tx., Joseph\u00a0<b>Flowers<\/b>\u00a0of Waverly; and six grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Published in &#8220;News Democrat&#8221;, Waverly, TN<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funeral services were held on Friday, September 26, 1986 at Luff- Bowen Chapel for Mr. Jesse\u00a0Flowers\u00a0of New Johnsonville.
