Mary Ellen Chance,<\/b>\u00a085, passed away July 24, 1997, after a brief illness.<\/p>\n
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28 at Hopkins Lawyer Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio, with the Rev.\u00a0Sam Rittenour<\/strong>\u00a0officiating. Burial was at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.<\/p>\n Born in Waverly, she was an Akron resident for the past 53 years.\u00a0Mrs. Chance<\/strong>\u00a0was employed as a marker with City Laundry for 40 years, retiring in 1974. She was a former member of the Akron Baptist Temple, and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids.<\/p>\n Mrs. Chance<\/strong>\u00a0was married to the late\u00a0Homer Chance.<\/strong>,<\/p>\n Survivors include sons,\u00a0Bill Chance<\/strong>\u00a0of Akron,\u00a0Murry Chance<\/strong>\u00a0of Valdosta, Ga.,\u00a0James D. Chance<\/strong>, of Chardon, and\u00a0James V. Chance<\/strong>\u00a0of Clinton; daughter,\u00a0Frances Walters<\/strong>\u00a0of Chicago,\u00a0Doretha Brunty<\/strong>\u00a0of Akron and\u00a0Sally Phipps<\/strong>\u00a0of Mt.
