Contributions are always very welcome so please do let us know if you have information to share.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/houston\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/houston.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-55 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/houston\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/houston.gif\" alt=\"houston\" width=\"275\" height=\"82\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Houston County\u00a0is located in Middle Tennessee, one of the state&#8217;s three &#8220;grand divisions&#8221;.\u00a0It is bordered on the north by <a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/stewart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stewart County<\/a>, on the east by <a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/dickson\/\">Dickson County<\/a>, on the south by <a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/humphreys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Humphreys County<\/a> and on the west by <a href=\"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/benton\/\">Benton County<\/a>.\u00a0 Houston County was established January 21, 1871 from lands that had been part of Dickson, Humphreys, and Stewart Counties. Erin is the County Seat.
