Buckner<\/b> \u2013 The many friends of this gentleman in this city and elsewhere will be pained to read the announcement of his death, which occurred yesterday morning.\u00a0 He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Maury county, and immediately entered upon commercial pursuits in this city, in which he continued for 12 years, having won the confidence of all with whom he came in contact.\u00a0 He was last of the firm Gordon, Bucker &amp; Co.\u00a0 His fine intellect and genial social qualities made him a general favorite with all his acquaintance.\u00a0 The death of such a man in the heyday of life and energy is a loss to the community, and is so regarded by all who knew him. \u2013 <i>Union &amp; American of Thursday.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>Source: Columbia Herald, 23 July 1869<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Death of James R.
