Tuesday evening, 16th inst., at the residence of the bride&#8217;s father, in this place, <strong>Maj. H.C. BATE<\/strong>, of Mississippi, to <strong>Miss Rosa SIMONTON<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We congratulate <strong>Major BATE<\/strong>, that he has secured such an invaluable prize; yet we can but grieve, in common with the \u00a0younger portion of the community, that we are to be deprived the society of one so genial, so much beloved. \u00a0He must not forget, when he transplants the lovely Rosa to his sunny southern home, that he has left aching hearts behind. \u00a0He had gallant rivals here: they only submit only with signs. \u00a0May the Major and his fair bride realize perpetually &#8220;love&#8217;s young dream.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Love is a celestial harmony of hearts which join together in sweet sympathy to work each other&#8217;s happiness. \u00a0It is the end, the joy, the wealth, the reward of life &#8211; nature&#8217;s second sun, causing a spring of virtues wherever he shines. \u00a0It is but sanctified and strengthened by the holy rites of matrimony. \u00a0May <strong>Miss Rosa<\/strong> and the Maj. reap all its joys and rewards.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Pulaski citizen.
