Brown<\/strong>, Governor of the State of Tennessee&#8211; To all who shall see these presents-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greeting-\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whereas, it has been made known to me that a certain <strong>Samuel B. GRIFFITH<\/strong>, charged with having committed a foul and atrocious murder, on the 12th day of March, 1872, upon the body of <strong>John A. DILLARD<\/strong> late of our county of Polk, has fled from justice, and is now running at large:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, therefore, I, <strong>John C. BROWN<\/strong>, Governor as aforesaid, by virtue of the power and authority in me vested, do hereby offer a reward of Three Hundred ($300) Dollars, to any person or persons who may apprehend the said Samuel B. GRIFFITH, and deliver him to the Sheriff or Jailor of our county of Polk, in order that justice in that behalf may be had and executed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed at Nashville, on the 19th day of March 1872.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>John C.
