{"id":2591,"date":"2015-09-12T10:12:39","date_gmt":"2015-09-12T15:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/histnews\/?p=2591"},"modified":"2015-09-12T10:12:39","modified_gmt":"2015-09-12T15:12:39","slug":"ansel-poe-vs-william-bryant-1872","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/histnews\/ansel-poe-vs-william-bryant-1872\/","title":{"rendered":"Ansel Poe vs. William Bryant (1872)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Circuit Court at Ooltewah, James County, Tennessee<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ansel POE<\/strong> vs <strong>William BRYANT<\/strong><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this cause it appearing to the court from the affidavit of the plaintiff that the defendant, <strong>William BRYANT<\/strong>, is a non-resident of the State of Tennessee, so that the ordinary process of law cannot be served on him, and an original attachment having been sued out and levied on the defendant\u2019s property; It is, therefore, ordered by the court that publication be made, for four successive weeks, in the Cleveland Banner, a newspaper published in the town of Cleveland, Bradley county, Tennessee, commanding the said William BRYANT to appear before our said Circuit court, at a court to be held at the court house in the town of Ooltweah on the 4th Monday in May, 1872, to make defense to said suit against him or the same will be taken for confessed and set hearing ex parte. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>A.L.
