W. M. BRADFORD<\/strong> is elected over <strong>Hon. D. C. TROWHITT<\/strong> by a majority of 300.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Our officers, <strong>Sheriff HAYS<\/strong> and <strong>Trustee WHITE,<\/strong> are two as clever men as there is in the county, and will make good officers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you see a fellow strutting around, with a cheroot in his mouth, that is <strong>Sheriff HAYS<\/strong> or <strong>Trustee WHITE.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The two happiest men in this district are <strong>John Peter CAMPBELL<\/strong> and <strong>Jeems Andrew LAWSON<\/strong> \u2013 both constables.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Old <strong>Tom PRATOR<\/strong> got beat in his district for constable. That\u2019s what he gets for not taking the Weekly Herald.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Our old friend <strong>S. S. BARRETT<\/strong> has been re-elected Justice of the Peace in the Charleston district. <strong>William BARRETT<\/strong> is the constable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We are informed by the citizens of the lower part of the county that the killing of <strong>ECHELS<\/strong> by <strong>SOUTHERLAND<\/strong> was anything but \u201cself-defense.\u201d If reports be true, it was a cold blooded murder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>One consolation <strong>Dan TREWHITT<\/strong> will have \u2013 he was defeated by a clever man and a gentleman, and <strong>BRADFORD<\/strong> may feel proud that he was elected over the same kind of man.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The defeat of <strong>Roderick Random BUTLER<\/strong> in the first district for Judge was the best thing that could be done for the party.
