HARPER<\/strong> is at Montvale.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. Wm. CONING<\/strong> left this week for Wisconsin.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. Jesse PEELE<\/strong> returned from Ohio last week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. T.N. WILLIAMS<\/strong> returned from Jefferson last week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Miss<\/strong> <strong>Maggie HENRY<\/strong> is spending the summer in Kentucky.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gen. R.N. HOOD<\/strong> and lady returned from the Western cities Saturday last.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. B.F. WILLARD<\/strong> returned from Montvale this week much improved in health.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. H.W. SPRAY<\/strong> and company returned from the mountains of North Carolina last Tuesday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. G.S.W. CRAWFORD<\/strong> has been appointed State Superintendent of Public Instruction by the Governor will enter upon the duties of his office at once.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. W.M. HOOD<\/strong> returned Monday last from a trip West, looking much improved. \u00a0Mrs. HOOD will remain until September. \u00a0She is rapidly regaining her health.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. L.C. BLANKINSHIP<\/strong>, a former clerk in our postoffice has accepted a clerkship in the postoffcice at Knxoville. \u00a0His many friends here wish him success in his new field of labor. \u00a0He made a good clerk here and leaves a host of friends. \u00a0We congratulate him upon his success.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mrs. J.P. HAYNES<\/strong> and sister, <strong>Miss Jennie McKENZIE<\/strong>, made a pleasant call at this office Thursday last. \u00a0<strong>Mrs. HAYNES<\/strong> went out to Montvale to spend the heated season at this celebrated summer resort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Source: Blount County Democrat, 8 July\u00a01882, page 4.
