M.S. ROYCE,<\/strong> Rector of Trinity Church, Nashville. \u00a0He died June 9, after a brief and severe attack of cholera. \u00a0Mr. ROYCE was an excellent man. \u00a0He was a native of Vermont, and was trained for the ministry by the late <strong>Bishop HAWKINS<\/strong>. \u00a0He settled as a minister in Tennessee, and was rector of St. Paul&#8217;s Church, Franklin, when the war broke out. \u00a0He served as Captain of Confederate cavalry till the close of the war, and then took charge of Trinity Church, Nashville, where he has devoted himself with great self-sacrifice and zeal to the poor and neglected classes of society. \u00a0He had formed a parish in Claiborne&#8217;s Addition, where he was erecting a new church, when he was suddenly removed from labor to reward. \u00a0Soon after his attack, he felt that his end was near, and that he was prepared for it. \u00a0Many die as sudden, few as safe. \u00a0<strong>Mr. PLAXTON,<\/strong> one of our foremen, a vestry man of <strong>Mr. ROYCE&#8217;<\/strong>s church, speaks of him in exalted terms as a devoted minister, and such we considered him, though our personal acquaintance with him was limited. \u00a0How mysterious that such men should be suddenly stricken down in the xenith of their usefullness!
