{"id":2012,"date":"2014-06-19T00:33:49","date_gmt":"2014-06-19T05:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/histnews\/?p=2012"},"modified":"2014-06-19T00:33:49","modified_gmt":"2014-06-19T05:33:49","slug":"dusenberry-john-d-1851","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/histnews\/dusenberry-john-d-1851\/","title":{"rendered":"DUSENBERRY, John (d. 1851)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Departed this life at his residence on Mulberry, January 8<sup>th<\/sup> 1851, John Dusenberry, aged 73 years and 13 days.\u00a0 Mr. Dusenberry was among the early settlers of this County, having emigrated here from the state of North Carolina in the year 1811.\u00a0 It may with propriety be said of the deceased, that he was kind and obliging\u2014ever ready to bestow acts of kindness and charity when opportunity presented.\u00a0 In the relations of Husband, Father and Master, he was peculiarly kind, affectionate and forbearing; and none can so well appreciate his loss as those with whom he was best acquainted.\u00a0 He possessed a full share of public spirit; contributing to the building of Churches, Academies and Roads. He lived a life of usefulness and his latter days were exemplary.\u00a0 In his religious conversation, during his last illness, he expressed a willingness to die\u2014thereby affording his friends and relatives the consolation that, \u201ctheir loss was his eternal gain.\u201d\u00a0 He left a wife and a large and respectable family of children to lament his loss.\u00a0 He was buried in the old Mulberry Church-yard by his many weeping neighbors, assisted by the President and Board of Directors of the Fayetteville and Mulberry Turnpike Company.\u00a0 Funeral serviced by Eld.
