Visit from James H. DONALDSON (1882)
James H. DONALDSON, Esq., of Loudon county, was in town Monday last. Mr. D. is a remarkable man; he is 70 odd years of age, and says he has never had a day’s sickness in the whole course of his life, and has never taken a dose of medicine. While he shows age, he gets about as though he was not more than 50 years of age. He is a good business man, having been engaged pretty much all his life in the goods business, and has amassed a handsome fortune. He held the office of Justice of the peace for many years, and in 1865, was elected to represent Blount county in the Legislature, and was an efficient, active member of the same. He is a Republican in politics; is a consistent member of the church. We know the above to be facts, having had a personal knowledge of him for 20 years, and Loudon county would honor herself by sending him to the coming Legislature.
