Pokin’ Around Pikeville (1949)
Mr. Lawrence SULLIVAN, of Hixson, was a visitor in Pikeville this week. His father, the late T.J. SULLIVAN, was once editor of The Pikeville Banner, selling out to John GERRIN years ago. LAWRENCE worked as printers’ devil with his father, but deserted the craft as he grew up. He had not been in Pikeville many years, and was amazed at the growth and improvement he saw. He saw and met a few old friends, including Joe POPE and Jim COLVARD.
