Personals (July 8, 1882)

- M.A.K. HARPER is at Montvale.
- Mr. Wm. CONING left this week for Wisconsin.
- Mr. Jesse PEELE returned from Ohio last week.
- Mr. T.N. WILLIAMS returned from Jefferson last week.
- Miss Maggie HENRY is spending the summer in Kentucky.
- Gen. R.N. HOOD and lady returned from the Western cities Saturday last.
- Mr. B.F. WILLARD returned from Montvale this week much improved in health.
- Prof. H.W. SPRAY and company returned from the mountains of North Carolina last Tuesday.
- Prof. G.S.W. CRAWFORD has been appointed State Superintendent of Public Instruction by the Governor will enter upon the duties of his office at once.
- Mr. W.M. HOOD returned Monday last from a trip West, looking much improved. Mrs. HOOD will remain until September. She is rapidly regaining her health.
- Mr. L.C. BLANKINSHIP, a former clerk in our postoffice has accepted a clerkship in the postoffcice at Knxoville. His many friends here wish him success in his new field of labor. He made a good clerk here and leaves a host of friends. We congratulate him upon his success.
- Mrs. J.P. HAYNES and sister, Miss Jennie McKENZIE, made a pleasant call at this office Thursday last. Mrs. HAYNES went out to Montvale to spend the heated season at this celebrated summer resort.
