Personals (July 22, 1882)
Excerpts from the “Personal” column:
- Dr. R.W. GODDARD is at Montvale
- Mr. S.T. WILSON, a former student of Maryville College, and his uncle, Mr. S.B. TOMLINSON, and family, of Cincinnati, Ohio, arrived in town Thursday last, and are the guests of Maj. W.A. McTEER.
- Mr. H.O. WILSON left Tuesday morning for the west.
- Mrs. Dr. B.A. MORTON returned Saturday last from Georgia, where she went some weeks ago to visit her mother, who was sick but died before her daughter reached her.
- Mr. Wright CULTON returned last Thursday from a trip to Sweetwater.
- Mr. J.L. LOWE has returned from an extended trip west, having visited Colorado and other western States. He is looking quite well and informs us that he enjoyed the trip very much.
- Mr. I.N. HARE, brother-in-law of Mr. D.N. BROYLES, is in Maryville, on a visit. Mr. HARE is a citizen of Griffin, Ga.
- Mr. F.P. CLUTE, a former citizen of this place, but now engaged at Tracy City, Middle Tennessee, returned to his home on Tuesday last.
- W.B. SCOTT Jr., after an absence of about five months, has returned to his home in this place, much improved in health. The “marks of his skill” will, in a short time, be seen in the mechanical and local departments of the Democrat.
