Non-Resident Notice (July 1872)

James Lacy et.als., vs. Johnston Lacy,et.al. In this cause it appears from the allegations in the bill, which is sworn to, that the defendants, James Lacy, Johnston Lacy and Thomas Lacy, are non-residents of the State of Tennessee, so that the ordinary process of law cannot be served on them, it is therefore ordered that publication be made, for four successive weeks, in the Cleveland Banner, a newspaper published in Cleveland, Bradley county, Tennessee, notifying and requiring said non-residents to appear before our Chancery Court to be held for the county of Bradley, at the courthouse in Cleveland on the 4th Monday of August next, to answer or otherwise make defense to complainant’s bill or the same will be taken for confessed and set for hearing ex parte as to them.
