Lee LAYNE for Sheriff (1906)
In another part of this paper, we announce Lee LAYNE for the office of the sheriff of Sequatchie county, subject to the will of the voters. “Dad” LAYNE, all his friends call him, is honest, upright and a good business man, a good worker and is well qualified for the office he seeks. He is also a good church and Sunday school worker, belongs to Dunlap Lodge No. 33 I.O.O.F. He is a miner by trade, and of course, has to go from one mining camp to another. Born and reared in Sequatchie county, he is never at home unless he is, in old Sequatchie. His chances are good and if elected, will make a good officer. (pg. 2)
