Death Notices from Benton County, TN 1876-1930
This five-volume set is a collection of newspaper transcriptions covering deaths around Benton County, spanning 1876-1930. It was compiled by members of the Benton County Genealogical Society and edited by Mike Stockdale. The entire set is 5 volumes; the picture below shows 4 volumes because the Tennessee State Library & Archives did not have volume 5 at the time of this writing.
Newspapers from which the notices were gleaned include the Benton Banner, Benton County Enterprise, Camden Chronicle, and the Camden Herald.
Each book contains typed transcriptions of the death notices. Each volume is organized chronologically.
Each volume also has an index to help you locate notices by surname.
Of note, historical issues of the Camden Chronicle are available online at the Library of Congress website. But, these books will help you more effectively if you know the name of a person/family of interest that may be represented during this time period.
More information is available on the Benton County TNGenWeb site.
