BALLEW, D.W. – (d. 1872)
Death of D. W. BALLEW – The Athens Post says: Col. D. W. BALLEW, formerly a prominent citizen of this vicinity, died at his plantation, in Fayette county, West Tennessee, on the morning of the 3d instant. He at one time represented McMinn county in the Legislature, and was extensively known as active and energetic politician. His remains were brought to this place, and interred in the old family burying ground four miles east of the town. (page 1, col 2)
