BAKER, Jess W. – (d. 1968)
Jess W. BAKER, 78, of St. Charles, Va, died Saturday in Lee General Hospital after a short illness. He was a life-long resident of Lee County, a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, of Pucketts Creek, a retired miner, a member of Jessee Lodge No. 155, and Pensioner’s Local 8761. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nannie Rogers BAKER; five daughters, Mrs. Warren Wright of Kingsport, Mrs. Ruby BUCKHART of Indianapolis. Ind., Mrs. Kyla WOODWARD of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Elena COWANS and Mrs. Walter STAPLETON of St. Charles; one son Carl BAKER of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Samp BAKER and Frank BAKER, both of Pennington Gap; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
