GREENLAW Attempts to Take His Life (1866)
Captain Lorenzo GREENLAW, the gentleman who recently fought a duel with Henderson TAYLOR, attempted to take his own life in Memphis on the 6th. He laid down upon a bed, in his own room, placed a pistol near his heart and fired; the ball that was to find a lodgment in the fount of his vital tide, struck a rib and glanced around toward the small of his back, producing only a painful flesh wound. No one save the would be suicide, knows the reasons, if any, that prompted Mr. GREENLAW to put an end to his own existence.
