Heavy Rain Fall (1876)

The heaviest rain that has fallen for years, fell in this vicinity Saturday evening last. Mr. John STEED measured the fall, which was 18 inches in 30 minutes. Every corn field near town or lower down, was blown down Also one stable and several shade-trees in the city. The branches were higher than any time since the flood of 1867.
