MOORE, Wm. – (d. 1872)
The Knoxville Chronicle says: On last Friday night a man named Wm. MOORE, who lives near Dandridge, in Jefferson county, left home, as it was supposed, on business which would not detain him long, but as he was absent all night, his children became alarmed and went to look for him on Saturday morning. He was found about a quarter of a mile from his home, lying in a ditch, dead. The unfortunate man was under the influence of liquor and it is presumed he fell in the ditch and was unable to get out and so met a horrible death by a slow process of drowning. The family of the unfortunate man heard someone calling during the night, but not thinking it possible any one could be in danger paid no attention, and are now satisfied it was MOORE.
